4975.0. "Differences between PSU's" by ARRODS::GOLDSTEIN (Steve G DTN: 847-5416/5455) Wed Aug 21 1991 07:37

	I might be getting a A2000 motherboard and after looking at the
	schematic drawings I notice that the only different between the
	A2000 PSU and a I*M clone PSU is the TICK line

	Question:-

	What is this line for ?
	Can I get one on a Clone PSU Or if not what can be done to generate
	one from the Clone PSU...

I'm guessing that this is the line that the CIA chips watch to implement the
line frequency timer. This timer is what is used to keep track of the
time of day and (I believe) do the preemptive multitasking.

    According to the theory I've heard... some I*M clone PSUs have the TICK
    line. I don't know of any I*M clones that use it.

    	Thanks,
    	      I'll look out for a clone PSU with the tick line....
