I am on vacation this week and have not been on the system ( TAPE
). It seems my developemnt group got tired of all the daytime access
to TAPE and disabled FAL.
I have restored access.
As for this note ...
A simple mail message to ELWOOD::Peters would have been nice ( I did get
one nice message ). Rapid fire notes in this file don't help.

| Sending a note to the moderator, or some other likely suspect is almost
always more productive than posting a note in this or any other conference.
I'm the moderator of several conferences, but no longer have time to follow
the conferences. However, I'm usually able to quickly respond to a mail
message with status since I know who to contact to get things fixed.
I noticed a problem with some files on TAPE a few months back and a note
to ELWOOD::PETERS resulted in it being fixed before I had a chance to look
at it again. From even a short time scanning this file is was obvious that
Steve was the best contact.

I agree 100%. But the original note was posted to determine IF
there even was a problem with TAPE, or if the problem was one person's
stupidity (i.e. mine). Last time something like this happened it was
due to my unawareness that the TAPE::USER2 had changed to TAPE::AMIGA!
I believe it's better to verify a problem exists first, and then
notify the moderator. I'm sure most people are busy enough without
having to chase down false problem reports.
