4940.0. "Sham viewer ?" by VIVIAN::D_VISTUER () Thu Aug 01 1991 20:03

    Gents,
    	I have recently used hamsharp & gifmachine to convert some .GIF
    files to SHAM. These files are about 640x515 by 256 colours.
    	However the problem I am having is in displaying them. I use Mostra
    ,as this is the only sham viewer I know of, to display them. They are
    always corrupted at the top and bottom.
    	So can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or else can someone
    recommend a better sham viewer ?.

    Thanks in advance.

4940.1Mostra?-Hardware-Problem?MUDIS3::AGRAFMon Nov 18 1991 12:209
    Well, me and a friend are also using Mostra. I own an old Amiga 1000
    and it works fine. He owns an Amiga 2000 and has exactly the problems
    you mentioned.
    Does anyone know the reasons for this? Is it sloppy programming or is
    it a hardware-problem? Is there a fix?

    		Thanx

Re: .0, .1

Are you folks using PAL/overscan? Do you have a "new" Agnus (1MB at least)?

I see this on my PAL Amiga all the time, UNLESS I restrict the WIDTH to 320
and the HEIGHT to 200. Try this an see if your problems go away.

This seems to be a hardware an not software problem, or at least a problem
in the SHAM definition...

Cheers,

4940.3What's SHAM ?DECAUX::VNATIM::HELMUTI can C clearly now, my brain is goneFri Nov 29 1991 04:5410
	I checked the conference but I didn't find an answer, so I
	thought this would be the best place to ask.

	What's exactly SHAM, what's the difference to Dyna-RES and HAM ?

	Which (commercial) programs support SHAM ?

	Thanks
