4923.1 | single or dual floppie system? | SALEM::LEIMBERGER | | Fri Jul 26 1991 06:22 | 12 |
| What you need to do is copy the driver from the extras disk to the
Dpaint disk "DEVS/PRINTERS" directory and then select it through
preferences. This applies to any disk you need to use this print driver
for. If you are having a problem with intalling print drivers I
suggest you spend a few seconds reading the manuals that come with the
Amiga. All this is covered quite well(it's been a long time since I read
it though), and I think 1.3 extras has an Install printer routine
on the disk. if you only have a single floppy let us know and we can
give you the assistance you need(single floppied make these things
seem very hard).
good luck

4923.2 | Along the right lines | JOCKEY::LUDLAMA | | Fri Jul 26 1991 09:28 | 10 |
| I have followed the instructions in the amiga mannuals the problem I
have is that when trying to install a printer driver using install
driver the system requests that you insert the workbench disk to copy
the driver to. I have tried to insert DP2 at this stage but the system
will not accept this.Perhaps I could load Install printer into ram and
then copy it to DP2 or alternatively load WB prefs into ram and do the
same .if both of those dont work ,how about renaming my DP2 as WB?

Arron

4923.3 | try this | SALEM::LEIMBERGER | | Fri Jul 26 1991 11:08 | 15 |
| try this
1) copy c:copy ram:
2) copy c:dir ram:
3) copy c:cd ram:
4) copy "printdriver" ram:
5) cd ram:
You should now have a minimum enviornment that has the files you
need including commands all in ran:
now
a)insert dp2 in df0:
b)copy "printdriver" df0:devs/printers/
That should do it for you. now boot with the DP2 disk, and run
preferences from it.(If it does not have preferences you may need to
copy prefs to the dp2 disk)

4923.4 | Sussed It! | JOCKEY::LUDLAMA | | Mon Jul 29 1991 09:26 | 14 |
| Thanks,
It didn't quite work because the print driver couldnt be located,
however you got me thinking along the right lines and this is what I
came up with;
1 boot DP2
2 enter shell
3 type Copy"Extras:Devs/prints/Canon_PJ-1080A" to devs/prints
4 the system then prompts you to insert the extras disk and after much
disk swapping the drive is installed onto DP2

Arron
p.s I now have a new problem in that when I print text I am having
great difficulty gettingthe text to stretch all the way across the
screen.
