4798.0. "New Uploads. " by VIVIAN::D_VISTUER () Fri Jun 07 1991 00:32

    Gents,

I have just uploaded a load of stuff I got from my local BBS. They
are all on Tape::amiga:[upload]. Here follows a brief description of
    each archive.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Idle.lzh - This will flicker the Power LED as CPU/Bus activity occurs.

AIBBV3.lzh - A good working copy of the lastest version, Amiga Intuition
                 Based Benchtests.

60Hz.lzh - A prog that allows you to flick between NTSC and PAL screen
    	       modes without rebooting the Amiga.

St-Emul.lzh - Yepp!, you guessed it a pucker Atari St Emulator. This is
a demo version of Chameleon from Medusa. You can run and
read Atari disks. I Have not tried it yet - cos it
"bombs" out (as Ataris do) due to my 68010 Cpu - i.e this
may only work with real 68000 Cpus.

Vchk_V517.lzh - This is Virus Checker. It does the same job as KV but
Better. It uses Intuition and Brainfiles.

TiTan.lzh - This is TiTanCrunch a prog packer similar in function to
PP. However, this one decrunches as it loads - unlike PP.

    PP_23b.lzh - Version 2.3b of Powerpacker.

    PP_31b.lzh - Version 3.1b of Powerpacker.

    XcopyIII.lzh - Copying program.

    CoderCopy2.lzh - Copying program.

    Dcopy.lzh - Copying program.

    BurstNibbler2.lzh - Copying program.

TetraCopy.lzh - Copying program. Play Tetris while copying.

Interface.lzh - A circuit design that allows the C-64 and Amiga to
chat. I think this is really intended for the Amiga
                    C-64 emulator ?.

MC680x0.lzh - Some info about the MC680x0 family, covering 68000 to
                  68040.

MemFlush.lzh - A really neat prog that defrags memory.

MoveSSP.lzh - A hack that moves the stack from Contentious CHIP to FAST
memory in attempt to enhance system performance. This
copy need no Compiling and is ready to Rock n Roll.

Anyway thats enough to be getting on with. Hope you find some of this
    stuff useful.
I would appreciate any feedback about the ST emulator.

    Ta Ta for Now.

    Dave.

Here's a new one I grabbed from Internet (AB20), uploaded to:

    	TAPE::AMIGA:[UPLOAD]CUBUS.LZH

    Haven't tried it yet...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

CUBUS is a three-dimensional Tetris-like game with some
nice features and 10 different levels each containing other difficulties.
It should work on any Amiga from A500/1.2 to A3000/2.0.

CUBUS may be freely copied and distributed, but anyone enjoying it
is encouraged to send a donation of any amount he/she considers
appropriate to one of the following addresses.

    I've got a Big prayer:
How can I tranfer the programs (60hz, cubus...) to my Amiga?
What do I have to do?!

I got into Tape::Amiga:[upload] but that was all I managed to do.
    Please help!

    regards,
                    Miguel

    1. Put aside a couple of hours.
    2. Extract the conference directory
    3. Search for all notes containing: novice, new user, upload, download,
    transfer etc
    4.READ the relevant notes
    5. Complete the transfer!

    :^)

Welcome to the wonderful world of PD. Please take time to read all the
other notes in this conference. Most answers will be already in here.

Many of these archives come with no documentation. Is this deliberate?

4798.5CUBUS bombs out.DUCK::AYRESRVictim of Murphys lawWed Jun 19 1991 03:5810
I downloaded CUBUS last night but I couldn't get it to work. When I
ran the program, a pretty loading picture appears and then I get bombed
out back to the workbench or CLI.

    Anyone else experienced similar problems?
    What am I doing wrong?

    Cheers,

    Russell.
4798.6You're not missing much...BOMBE::MOOREAmiga: Where 'multimedia' REALLY beganWed Jun 19 1991 15:162
I only ran it once myself, don't remember whether I had any difficulty
getting it to go. Compared to BlockOut, CUBUS is pretty lame.

Just uploaded the latest version of dirwork 1.3 on tape as

                      DW130.zoo

It came off usenet , I haven't tried it yet but I've been using DW 1.22
for several months now. I use it in preference to SID as SID has a
couple of things that I find irritating including the way you have to
click on the border of the directory window to get to the parent dir and
it's tendency to crash sometimes on my accelerator.(maybe sid 2.0 will
cure all when it appears later this summer)

I'd recommend anyone using SID to give Dirwork a tryout to see what you
think. I find it fast and flexable .

    Steve.
