4785.0. "HP 380 and Hardframe" by ARRODS::GOLDSTEIN (Steve G DTN: 847-5416/5455) Thu May 30 1991 19:20

	I've finally got my HP 97544 380 Meg harddisk working BUT.....

	I'm using the Microbotics HardFrame and found that I couldn't
	Format the drive ... The HardFrame is at the latest rev (V1.9)

	It was O.K. Low-level formatting....

	It was O.K. to created 4 partions...unsin the RDPrep program

	Then I reboot and tried to format the drive and it failed after
	approx 3-4 cylinders...(Highlighted disk the used the Workbench Disk
	Init)

	I then tried formatting from the CLI failed again UNTIL I put the
	QUICK flag on the end of the command...

	(Format drive DH0: name HP_0 Noicons {QUICK} )

	I've copied my Workbench disk onto the new partions and the disk
	allows the system to reboot off the new partion....

	Is their a problem with the HardFrame...??
	Am I going to have any trouble with these partions because I haven't
	Amiga Dos formated them..??

    is that a "zoned" harddisk? I ran into the same problem with my
    Quantum 200Meg disk. Works fine with the FORMAT QUICK, I've even
    filled up the partitions to 100% with no complaints.

    Very strange. I have the previous rev of the Hardframe software.

4785.2O.K. at the moment...ARRODS::GOLDSTEINSteve G DTN: 847-5416/5455Mon Jun 10 1991 11:119

    	The HP isn't a zoned drive and I have spoken to several people and
    they say I should be O.K....

    	The other sugestion was to put the drive on an A2091 and FORMAT
    that way....

    It is working O.K. so I just leave it ... UNLESS someone wants to BUY
    IT....(650)
