4745.0. "Rejuvenator for A1000" by HYSTER::DEARBORN (Trouvez Mieux) Wed May 15 1991 10:21

Has anyone had any experience with the Rejuvenator for the A1000? I
understand that there is a 2meg chip ram version coming out. I am interested
in upgrading my old A1000.

I have a Rejuvenator in my Amiga 1000 for nearly a year now and it
works very well. I have all the new chip set (fat Agnus, ecs Denise)
and I am just waiting for 2.0 Roms to come out when 2.0 is released and
I will be able to run just like everybody else. I also am running a
Lucas/Frances accelerator combo which works quite well too. I use the
Wedge hard disk drive interface with an 80 & 30 meg st506 type drives.
20 Mhz 68020, 4 meg 32 bit ram. There apparently is a mod for the
Rejuvenator coming out that will support the 2 meg Agnus and allows you
to replace the 1 meg of chip ram on the Rej with 2 meg. Probably if you
order the Rejuvenator you can specify which version you want.

good luck, Real Amigas have Keyboard Garages regards John Lemoine

Now for the next question...

When can one get one? I understand they are not sold through dealers. Do you
have any info? Pricing info?

Thanks

Randy

The Grapevine Group has been advertising these regularly in AmigaWorld,
price is around $479 I think. Some other outfit has also listed it in
    their ads occasionally, Briwall maybe...?

    Randy,
System eyes has a flier on it pinned to the sales desk. They order
them(can but haven't had a request) if wanted. I'm not sure about
price. For you it may be great for the people that bought a used 1000
and can barely punch the mouse buttons, I'd recommend putting the money
    into a 500.

Sorry, I don't like the 500. Over the last 5 years, I have invested in
add-ons for my A1000. I don't want to fiddle around with gender changers and
new cables for everything. Plus, I think the 500 is a lousy package for those
who add a lot of things on. There would be cables, boxes and power supplies
all over the place. I'm not interested inthe Bodega Bay either...if I wanted
that, I would just buy a 2000. (I also find it hard to believe that the 500
still has a GREEN warning light for the disk drive and a RED light for
power...braindead human factors if you ask me...especially on a product aimed
at the home market.)

I'm sticking with my A1000 and A2000 for now. I have far too much invested in
them to change now.

Actually, I think my current A500 has a green power light
and an orange drive light, or maybe it's the other way around ?

I'll check when I get home.

I do recall my original A500 had red power, green drive light,
rather silly really.
