4735.0. "Amiga Emulator for the IBM" by HKFINN::MACDONALD (Home of Digital Realtime Pubs) Fri May 10 1991 11:46

I found a file called AMIGA.LZH, the IBM Amiga emulator. Supposedly
it'll turn a VGA-equipped IBM into an Amiga emulator capable of running
most software that doesn't access the custom chips. Has anyone tried
this software? I don't have a VGA machine at home.

"Most software that doesn't access the custom chips." The only thing I
can think of that doesn't access the custom chips is the Macintosh
    emulator.

Of course, they may have included a modified version of AmigaDOS which
works without accessing the custom chips, so they could run most
AmigaDOS applications, but that's hardly likely. Commodore would be
most unhappy if their software were pirated, and recoding AmigaDOS
from scratch would be a significant effort.

If it's the one I heard about, I think you need kickstart and amigados
to run it. I came across a message from someone asking about where to
get kickstart because he had found probably the same archive.

I asked him to upload it to a local bbs, but have heard nothing from
    him yet...

Isn't that the one which puts up a text message which says

"Please insert disk with multitasking OS in any drive"

and then times out after five years?
