4725.0. "Prince of Persia" by WOTVAX::HATTOS (I think, Therefore I'm paid less) Tue May 07 1991 04:54

Has anyone seen the PC game Prince of Persia ?

Is there an Amiga version, if so is it PD, if so is it available
    on-line?

    Thanx-in-advance

	Stuart,

yes I've played it a couple of times. On a VGA display it has
decent grafx. The background graphics are not so overwhelming
but the animation of the player ...

It's one of the most accurate animations of a running, jumping,
climbing man I've ever seen in a computer game.

Jordan Mechner (the programmer of this game) has proven his talent
some years ago on the Apple ][ and C-64 with a similar game called
	Karateka.

The game is fun for a while, but it hasn't too a big addictive
level. You run from left to right and vice versa, climb sometimes
fight with a sword (a rather simple version of a fight) and try
to get to your lady before the hour is over.

There is an Amy version, it looks like the I*M VGA version and has
also joystick control. Of course it isn't PD or Shareware.
Brderbund is the company which released this product.

	Have fun,
	Helmut

Prince of Persia is readily available from any decent software shop, it
    costs about 20 quid.

I've got it. It's impressive graphically but as an earlier reply said,
its gameplay could have been a little better. I'd have liked to have
seen more impressive backdrops too, but then I'm fussy!

    Cheers,

Phew!

Finally got to the end of Prince of Persia.
Now I never want to see that little guy again....

I found this game very addictive up to about the 8th level. After that
I just wanted to get it all over with. You need a good joystick for some
of the later levels, I struggled with my Radio Shack one. Very nice
animation, but the novelty does wear off.

The last level is particularily frustrating.
