4705.0. "Master Virus Killer V2.0" by VIVIAN::D_VISTUER () Thu Apr 25 1991 20:18

I have just uploaded Master Virus Killer to Tape::amiga:[upload].

In brief, this is a virii utility that can detect 105 different types
of virus including some really obscure ones I've not heard of before.
It also has the ability to recognize 47 different types of benign
bootblocks and if a virus is present in memory.

I find it very useful !.

This is the first upload to tape I've done so I would appreciate some
feedback regarding any problems people may have copying it.

It is a powerfull program, but extremely ugly to watch !
With so good coding, such a poor presentation.

Another thing, can a program be public-domain in the UK and
have another status (Shareware ...) in France/Switzerland/Belgium ?

Hhmm!, I dont't know !. I suppose if the author states that in the docs
then it must be. However, given the fluidity of PD/shareware I think it
would be extremley impractical to keep in check.

As an aside: When I hire video films in the UK, I sometimes notice a
small piece of print which says that '...This video is not for hire or
rent in Australia or New Zealand..." - I wonder why ?.

    Regards.

I believe this is an ofshoot from the publishing industry.

The US and the UK carved the world up between them. I believe the UK controls
Australia.

That is why you will see a US book with the above on.

In the UK you see books with "Not for sale in US or Canada".

The net result is that local publishing seems to be frozen out by the
'big publishers', and a book in Australia costs an arm and a leg.
