4680.0. "Noisy A2000" by KAHUNA::SUMNER () Mon Apr 15 1991 15:26
I have a problem with my A2000 audio on the right channel. When I
power up the system I have this annoying 5Khz whistle coming from
the right channel. I've switched the channels around on the monitor
and the whistle follows. I then hooked the 2000 outputs to my receiver
and the whistle remained. When I use the modem and call in to work
the frequency about doubles, I can also here the data faintly when
the characters print across the screen. Has anybody had or heard
of this problem before? I know it could be Paula or the LF347 amp
but, before I take it in and have the shop I bought it look at it (I'm
not that confident in they're tech skills) I'd like to hear if this
problem has occured with anybody else. It could be a noisy buss
but, I can't see how it would bleed over. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
~Ray

4680.1 | Serial connection ? | MQOFS::LECOMPTE | Acid Rain: It's raining death | Mon Apr 15 1991 16:30 | 9 |

If I remember correctly there is some audio input on the serial
connector if there is something on that pin it may cause your
problem.
I would try disconnecting the serial connector to see if this help.
You could have some problem with the connector itself (DB25).

That was it Hubert. I disconnected my modem cable from the serial port
and WALA ... no noise!
