I made my daily trip to system eyes yesterday to see what was new.
Aside from Bards tale III, and several other new games their was a
product called Freedom 500. This unit lets you remove the keyboard from
your 500,and place it in a external case. There is a plate that covers
the space left by removing the keyboard. Steve was planning on hooking
one up to the demo 500. The unit is made of metal, and painted to match
the 500. It looks pretty clean from what I could see (wasen't installed
yet.) The price was $149.00. I imagine they could have produced a
cheaper product if they decided to go with plastic, but think they
chose metel to assure a good fit . (ie: no warping, shrinking etc.)
Maybe in time we will see a plastic case ?

| It seems likely that metal was chosen to avoid EMI.-tom

| Gee, isn't that about the same price as a complete A2000 keyboard?
