4616.0. "Latest version of "Noclick?"" by TLE::TLET8::ASHFORTH (The Lord is my light) Fri Mar 22 1991 12:20

Can anyone point me to a current version of the "noclick" program? I never got
around to getting and running this, and I'd like to, BUT- the only versions I
can find browsing the net are 1989-vintage. I tried one of them, to no effect.
(I'm running a 2000HD with AmigaDOS 1.3,in case that's relevant.)

Thanks a megabyte.

Cheers,
	Bob

NoClick V3.6 is on FF246, NoClick V3.5 is on FF243. I run V3.5 on my
A500 and never bothered to upgrade to V3.6. These 2 fish disks, if
    you're unaware, are at tape::amiga:[amiga.fish.z200]ff243.lzh &
    ff246.lzh.

Only problem I've ever had is booting with a floppy in df1: (due to
contention for the drive between NoClick and VirusX). I suppose a
delay would help, but removing the floppy is easier :-).

Oops, sorry. They're still in zoo format.

Thanks, I've copied it. FWIW, the version floating around "naked" is 3.2. Just a
tad outdated, I guess. Sure would be nice if bookreader incorporated a string
search function- finding Fish stuff would be a lot simpler!

Search would be nice, but you can just use the "Index" button on the
    main Bookreader window.

4616.5Don't forget that noclick doesn't work on all drivesMADRE::MWMFri Mar 22 1991 16:474
I'm not even sure if it works on all drives shipped by CBM. If it doesn't
work, running it can physically damage your drive.

Hmmm....

I've just bought a 2000HD and would like to stop the floppy clicking, but not
at the risk of damaging the drive.

Anyway I can tell if my drive is one that Noclick will damage?

Anyone had any experience with NoClick damaging their drives?

I keep the floppy drive on my A2000 from clicking my leaving a disk in
the drive. It's simple and has low risk.

I've had drives in the past which it didn't work with and there
was no damage in trying the program out. If the clicking doesn't
go away in a minute or so OR if it changes pace, then don't run
the program any more. It usually takes about a minute or so for
the drives to stop clicking. I have no idea why. Some of
them will allow you to specify specific drives (df0:, df1:, etc)
so if you have certain drives which it does work with you can
    stop those only.

Just my experiences though, your mileage may vary...

Ditto .7. No program compatibility problems, a floppy is always
available for whatever, and it works, ALWAYS.

I'm using NoClick 3.4 on my df0: (B2000) and it stops immediatly
(~1-2 sec) the clicking, so far no problemo ;-)

I go with .7 . I always have a floppy available, and it never hurts me.

If you have KS 2.04 and a 3000, the current NOCLICK program seems to work
great! This is coming from someone that has never had good luck with these
    noclick programs before.

Yes, I have one for 2.0 I put in wbstartup and it works great.
I think its called killclick. I'm not sure, but didn't cbm
provide a mechanism for turning this off in 2.0? For some
reason I thought killclick was somehow different than the
other noclick programs. I believe it only runs on 2.0.

I use the NOCLICK program referred to in an earlier reply.
Works fine for me, with no problems observed.
