4615.0. "Problems with Commodities on WB 2.0" by GIDDAY::MORAN (I'm not bad-I'm just drawn that way!) Thu Mar 21 1991 18:58

This is a real tough question ...

I had my A3000 for almost 4 days now and I have a problem trying to
work out how to use the Commodities Exchange programs.

After reading the (large) manual that comes with the machine as far as
I can work out I Click on one of the program icons that is located in
System2.0:Tools/Commodities drawer. As far as I can work out when I
click on one of the Programs (eg Screen Blanker) it should load and run
the program. Then I should be able to open a Shell and the function
Keys will work. Needless to say it does'nt though when I click on the
icon I can see the hard drive being accesed.

Also I though that once you have any Commodities programs running you
can run the Exchange program located in the utilities drawer. When you
run this program I though your are supposed to get a window which lists
the current commodities running. Upon clicking on this program again the
program sounds as if it loads but I don't get a window on the screen.

Does anyone out there know what stupid things I am doing wrong or do I
have a possible corrupt file on the System disk. I have not changed the
tools types on any of the icons or altered the default set up of the
    system disk in any way.

    Thanks in advance ... Shaun.

4615.1Not amiga dead - just brain dead.GIDDAY::MORANI'm not bad-I'm just drawn that way!Fri Mar 22 1991 09:3813

Please disregard .0 my brain is all fixed now and I've found the
    problem.

For the record the fault was that I was using a commodities.library
file that was wrriten in 1987. When going through my PD software I
must of copied it there accidently.
