4562.0. "Has TAPE:: gone Away?" by GLDOA::BERREY (I'm the NRA) Tue Mar 05 1991 08:06

    Has anyone had a problem getting into TAPE:: lately? When I try I get
    no such directory errors. Up until the end of last week I had no
    problem getting to it.

    Our local cluster is going through some modifications, like some of the
    nodes being moved to chicago, but the node I'm on, under NCP> still sees
    tape. It just comes back and says that the Directory doesn't exist.

    TAPE::USER2:[AMIGA] - This is the location and node I'm trying for.

    Has the directory moved??

    Thanks in advance!

4562.1It is now TAPE::AMIGA:[AMIGA...]CSC32::K_APPLEMANTue Mar 05 1991 08:228
    Yes, the directory has moved to a different disk. The new location is:

    TAPE::AMIGA:[AMIGA...] or TAPE:AMIGA:[UPLOAD] depending on what you
    want. A note was just posted by the TAPE system manager stating that
    the directories of AMIGA: have been reorganized so you might want to
    do a directory of it to see where everything is at now.

Ok. Could someone please explain this.

HAND is not in a hidden area. I can access DFS:: (WJG::) with no problems.

From node HAND

    re .2

    	I'm not sure what is causing your problem. TAPE:: is a VAX 3600
    running VMS 5.4-2. It is not a hidden node ( address 18.770 ). I
    did lose USER2 again ( good thing AMIGA: is not there any more ).
    	Other than the disk problem Moday, TAPE:: seems to be stable
    and running well. I even have time to organize some of the AMIGA
    archives.

    Re: .2

    On node HAND, the definition for TAPE is incorrect (close though!).
    It should be 18.770 but instead it is 18.77

    Ask your system manager to correct it and in the interim you could
    access it as 19202::AMIGA:[AMIGA...].
