4550.0. "vr299?" by HLFS00::HERRINGS_J () Wed Feb 27 1991 05:30

    	Hello Amiga friends !!

    Can anyone tell me if it's possible to connect a VR299 to
    an Amiga.
    I'm looking forward to your replies.

4550.1You'll need some coax and BNC's...SMURF::COOLIDGEBayard, ULTRIX CSSE 381-0503 ZKO3Tue Mar 05 1991 13:2311

    Well, I haven't tried it personally yet, but you probably
    would need to make up some small coax cables to connect the
    RGB signals coming out of the D connector on the back of the
    Amiga (I have a 500). You would have to put BNC connectors on
    the other end of them and then connect them to the VR299.

    However, you would lose your audio, unless you have a separate
    amplifier and speakers as there is no audio capability on the 299.

	I believe the VR299 is a 1024 X 864 non-interlaced monitor with a
horizontal scan rate of about 54KHz. Which means its too fast even for a
flicker fixer. I'm afraid it won't be very useful on an Amiga.
