My 2000 randomly boots as either a NTSC or a PAL machine, with a 50/50 chance either way. Since it should be in PAL mode it is a damn nusience!!! Any ideas - is it likely to be a jumper that maybe loose or what. It may be some sort of a machine problem as I have also recently backup/reformat/restore the system partition and it is running differently. For example I now can't run Qmouse without a GURU - no problem before. regards kevin

There is a jumper that does this. J102 if installed you get NTSC if removed you get PAL. I have a switch hooked to mine. A very useful $1.50 mod. The actual jumper on mine was a solder bridge. In your case it could be partially removed leaving a small bridge with a poor contact. Look on page F-11 of the amiga 2000 manual the Fat agnus pin 31 Test. If my memory serves me right. Facing the 2000 it was to the left of the FAT Agnus chip. Around the front left corner of the chip. Alan | |||||
