4517.0. "VR299 and The Amiga" by ARRODS::GOLDSTEIN (Steve G DTN: 847-5415) Fri Feb 15 1991 07:57

    Has anybody tried to us the VR299 with the Ami...???

    I assume that the cable would have the csync connected to the green
    connector...??!!

    What sort of display would you expect to have ..??
    (I that it the the VR299 is not Mutisync)

    I have look at the notes regarding the VR240/VR241 monitors...

    I use a VR201 and VR241. For me they had the best Price/Quality
    relation :-). The problem with the VR299 would be "how to mix the SYNC
    into the GREEN" I have no idea at the moment but i'm sure it is not
    possible to connect the 2 signals on the DB-23 plug. Some docs about
    external sync ports/connectors or maybe a solder-point somewhere
    inside the VR299 would be helpful.

4517.2The VR299 scan rate is not compatible with Amiga RGB::ROSEWed Mar 13 1991 08:265
	The VR299 is a 1024 X 864 non interlaced monitor. It's scan rate is
about 54KHz. The stock Amiga is about 16 Khz. The flicker fixer should be about
31 KHz. You would need a scan converter to hook up the VR299. I don't know
of any such beast and if it existed, it would be more expensive than a flicker
fixer.
