4480.0. "AMIGA MINIX" by WJG::GUINEAU (the number 42 comes to mind) Fri Feb 01 1991 15:35
For Minix users, the latest version is at:
WJG::SYS2:[AMIGA_MINIX.PATCHES]LATEST.AMINIX.LZH.
It has hard disk support for commodore controllers (A590 and A2091).
Here is the readme:
Here's a short guide on how to set up your harddisk for AmigaMINIX.
1) Create a partition on your harddisk called "MINIX" of at least
1 MB. (Yes, the name IS important!)
2) Make a copy of your (original) BOOT: floppy and copy the loader
(called 'minix') and the new minix.img file onto that copy.
3) Modify the S:startup-sequence of that floppy so that the loader
is called without any options. You don't need the "-s" and "-e"
options any more.
4) Now you can boot AmigaMINIX and use the normal ROOT and USR floppies.
You can mount the MINIX partition as follows:
/etc/mount /dev/hd2 /user
You can access other partitions named MBOOT, DH0, DH1, DH2 and DH3,
on minor device numbers 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively. Minor device
number 0 is used to access the whole drive.
5) The harddisk driver gets the harddisk controller memory address
by taking the boardaddress of the first autoconfig device
manufactured by Commodore. This means that if you have other
autoconfig devices made by Commodore besides your harddisk
you may have to disable/disconnect them. You can find out exactly
which autoconfig devices your system recognizes by running the
FindConfigDev utility.
