4459.0. "Maxtor XT-4380E" by CRISTA::LEIMBERGER (I have my marbles now I want yours) Mon Jan 28 1991 09:30

	I have acess to a Maxtor XT-4380E 338meg(formatted drive).
It used the EDSI interface. I currently have a scsi(GVP) card installed
but have been looking into getting an GVP 030 card. Will this drive work
with the GVP 030 card.

The GVP 030 card had an IDE interface. IDE is basically an IBM AT bus.

To use ESDI, you will need and ESDI to SCSI adapter. I've never seen
one but they probably exist.

    	I beleive that you can change the logic board to convert the drive
    from ESDI to SCSI

    Adaptec makes an a esdi to scsi adapter - SUN uses them in their 140
    meg drives.
