I ordered the DTP upgrade for The Copiest about six months ago. I have exchanged 8 disks with Dr. T's and not one of them will work. The problem occurs when their program checks for the key disk. The drive light goes on and then the system hangs. The folks at Dr. T's are telling me that my drive is screwed up. However, the original Copiest professional works fine and it has the same copy protection. I have no problems with my floppy drive. I have no idea what to do. I don;t want to take my drive to get "fixed" because a) it will cost money b) it will probably screw the thing up c) other than with the Copiest DTP it works fine. I think people realy need to put a foot down with regards to the copy protection crap. John

Try using the key disk in another floppy drive is you have more than one. I have KCS from Dr. T and it will load from df1: but hangs in df0:. Have you tried to demand a non-copy protected version? Roomer has it that they are unprotecting their software. You also might try cleaning the floppy drive heads. Terry |
