I felt that they were pulling a "bait and switch" on me when I
called about their A2091 with 40 meg quantum for $399. This was a
subjective impression, they may have genuinely sold out of that config
and tried to offer me the next closest thing. Also, they don't reveal
what their shipping rates are in their ads, they just say call for all
other shipping info. Some m/o places add 5% for shipping and handling
{no worse than Mass sales tax, I know} I don't see how it can cost the
$75 to "ship and handle" a video toaster, for example.

PS Std disclaimer - I havn't yet bought anything from them.

| Hi Ray!
and I just tried to call you!!......I just received some Kara fonts
and Deluxe software from them. No problem, I just rang from Germany and
asked for COD (cash on delivery) to my collegue staying at a hotel in
Westford, Mass. It was there in 3 days! Good phone service and they
didn't try to palm somethingelse on me even though they were out of
stock of one of the programs!
I've just ordered using Mastercard from here so I will be
interested to see how good the delivery will be over the continents....
also really good prices.......the cheapest until now........I should
add I tried another mailorder outfit IN Mass. for that missing piece of
software.......they promised it in a day.......nothing arrived! i
stand by Creative Computers.
cheers fjeff......give me a call about RAM expansion on 773 2093 as
I am confused........(nothing new!)

I just received a GVP Series II A500 HD+ (40 meg hard drive) from
Creative. First off, their price was excellent, and they did say the
unit was in stock and would be shipped within 2 days of my initial
order (placed on Nov. 12). Called the following Friday to find that
the order hadn't been shipped yet and would be shipped the following
week. Called again on the 20th to find that the units were received that
day but orders couldn't be processed 'cause they were switching to a new
computer system. OK, I can buy that. They were promising customers that
orders would be shipped on the 23rd, the day after Thanksgiving (I didn't
really think that was very likely, due to the holiday). Called the
following Tuesday (27th) and was told it was in house and being shipped
that day. Called again on the 28th to be told the unit was being
"picked". At that point I let them know in no uncertain terms that I was
not very pleased about the delay in receiving a unit that was supposed
to have been in stock. They agreed to call me at home when the unit was
actually shipped, which they did the following day (the 29th). I received
the unit on the 6th of December.
All in all, it was 2 weeks from time of order to actual shipment,
including a holiday week and their change to a new computer system.
Also realize that this is a new product which is in high demand. I called
Go Amigo and a few other mail order houses only to find much higher prices
and the unit not in stock. Computability doesn't even carry GVP stuff
anymore. Creative did give me their adjusted (downward) price on SIMMS
which was $10 less than what they had originally quoted me. Also,
according to my invoice, they didn't charge a dime for shipping. And of
course, my credit card wasn't charged until the 29th. As far as shipping
charges, all you gotta do is ask (it was supposed to be ~$8.50). Other
mail order places charge 5% which would have run about $35 on this order
which is utterly ridiculous. UPS doesn't cost all that much.
This is probably an atypical case, due to (1) the demand for this drive,
(2) the changeover in their computer system, and (3) the fact that a
holiday week was in the midst of it. At all times they were extremely
courteous and very apologetic for the delay in shipping. Bottom line:
Would I order again from them? Most likely.

(in love with my new hard drive!)

| I ordered one item from them - a flickerFixer. The price was excellent,
and was turnaround was very quick. The salesperson even appeared to be
reasonably knowledable, which is more than a lot of places...

| Thanks for all the feed back! I want to puchase a GVP A3001/50Mhz
with the 8 Megs of memory. They have a great price for this item
but it's alot of cash to send to a retailer you can't see face to
face. I feel alot more comfortable about them know. Thanks again.
Good hearing from you again Jeff! I'll get that info to as soon
as I can.
