4307.0. "updates keep rolling in $$$$$ needed" by SALEM::LEIMBERGER () Mon Nov 26 1990 06:18

Well two more of my software packages have been updated. I don't have
to worry about buying new software, lately I haven't been able to afford
    maintaining my current software base.

    APRO- Art Department Professional
ASDG states that you can now load, and save in all formats, and there
are several new loaders included. These were not named but I imagine
that GIF will be one of them, and hopefully one for the mac world.
They also stated that there were new image processing features(also not
specified) along with a general refinement of the product.
Required- your original disk, and $75.00. I consider this a must
have for Video, and DTP applications so it is next on my list(before
PPage). I have been wanting the ability to move graphics between
systems, and now it looks like I will have it. I plan to offer
conversion services, and also now I'll be able to incorporate any
pictures that people want used in video, and DTP. This is really one
    exciting piece of software.

    Broadcast Titler 2.0
This is first on my list. I was talking with a professional person
in the Video bussiness, and he stated that 2.0 is one thousand percent
better. Now we know that this is not possible but he was so excited
about it that he could hardly keep his breath when telling me about it.
The code is rewritten form scratch. it now offers a mouse driven
interface, and a slew of new transistions. Gone are the Chip Ram
shortages, and annoying glitches that troubled the old program. It now
comes with a comprehensive 115 page users guide with helpfull hints,
    illustrations,and tutorials.
    Other Improvements
    	More standard fonts
    	Support for international accents
    	Sharper Anti-aliasing
New Border Options, and Pattern filled text
    		using 8 color iff brushes.
    New Effects
    	Variable posistion Horizontal Crawl
    	Improved Credit Roll
Real Time Clock(?? not sure what is offers but I want it)
    	Countdown Timer
Block Pattern wipes, and additional line effects.
    Playback Modes
Presto Page mode- for rapid-fire playback
New interactive presentation mode-Random access of any page/groups
    Asides
    	Concolidated menus
    	RGB/HSV sliders
    	Programmable tab stops
    	Margin,and spacing controls
    	Line/Page- insert,justification,copy,paste,append,and insert
        Individual Font-by-Font loading
    	Amigados 2.0,amiga 3000 compatable
    	supports the CBM 2300 genlock

The down side is any fonts converted with the older program, and any
sequences done with the old software are not compatable

    Policy/requirements
Any registered user will get BroadCast Titler 2.0, new 115 page
users guide, and a self running demo disk for $40.00(shipping included)
and the thin spine from their original manual

I sent in my money order, and the spine from my manual on friday, so the
waiting begins. The person I talked to said he had his copy in less
    than a week.

What does "supports the CBM 2300 genlock" mean?
4307.2software control of genlockSALEM::LEIMBERGERMon Nov 26 1990 13:108
supports the CBM 2300 genlock means just that. Broadcast titler will
now control the 2300 internal genlock just as it controls the
supergen, and supergen 2000s. That should mean it will control the
forground, background fades (in,and out) directly from the
    program,overriding the manual faders. I don't have the 2300 so, I
don't know much about it. It will at the very least allow you to use
the 2300 by setting page transistions that apply.

Add to those, the Director Version 2 upgrade for $70.00! That's
more than I paid for the whole package to begin with.

I haven't got my notice yet from the Right Answers Group!
I have the director, and the toolkit, so i hope to hear from them soon.
I most likely won't run out and upgrade, but I like the chance to make that
decision. I ragged on the people that put out Pixel 3D because I saw a
later version in the store, and I never recieved an update notice. I told
them to send it out c.o.d.(10.00for the upgrade plus shipping) but haven't
seen it yet. I haven't had the money for Imagine so it looks like I'll
miss on that one. It's too bad but I could not get $150.00 up in 60 days,
at this time(just took a promotion).

4307.5May Not be official yetRIPPLE::LUKE_TETue Nov 27 1990 12:019
    re: -1
I got my notice for the Director V2 from the AmiExpo in Anaheim
in October. They may not be offically announcing it yet since the
Toolkit update isn't finished yet and it has a few incompatibilities,
specifically in the MIDI module. They're sending me a pre-release
version of the MIDI module, since that is what I use most to control
    the Director.
