4301.2 | Not much help I'm afraid | NOTIBM::MCGHIE | Thank Heaven for small Murphys ! | Mon Nov 26 1990 03:52 | 32 |
| Sorry Patrick,
I can't be of any help to you ont this, I only tinker at home with my
Ami, certainly not into the sort of things you do.
By merging with Dpaint, do you mean including grahpics in the document?
From the requirements you've outlined it sounds like you'll need two or
three packages :-
1. A wordprocessor with graphic capability, e.g. PROwrite -
which gets pretty good reviews. Comes with a 100,000 word
dictionary, and Thesaurus with over 300,000
cross-references (obtained from an add in the last
Amigawirld I bought).
2. You may need a DTP package, if PROwrite doesn't satisfy you
formatting requirements ??/
3. Business style grahpics, I've no experience with those
sorts of things maybe someone else could make some suggestions ?
Of course before buying anything, check out the software at a dealer
and see if it will really do the job for what you have in mind.
regards
Mike
P.S I currently run Kindwords for basic WP work (got it cheap), but
probably would upgrade to PROWrite if I wanted to toss $200 (which is
what it costs down my way)

4301.3 | Look at ProWrite | BOMBE::MOORE | Amiga: Real computing on a PC budget | Mon Nov 26 1990 05:15 | 4 |
| Yes, I think ProWrite seems to meet most of your requirements. There
are French and German (I believe) dictionary/thesaurus options
available for ProWrite 3.0, and it will print to any "preferences"
printer (LJ252 = HP PaintJet).

4301.4 | Prowrite3.0 seems O.K. | PEKING::NONDEP | | Fri Nov 30 1990 03:48 | 18 |

Thanks,
It seems indeed that Prowrite is the sort of package I would need.
Re. 2 Yes I meant Colour graphic output ei: Import from Deluxe Paint3
or similar colour graphes and merge them with my document and save and
print the lot as one document.
Is there a french noter that could give me the price of prowrite3.0 in
France and check out if a spell check and theausorus can be bought
separatly ....
Re the symbols I might have an idea looking through the notes someone
mentioned Clip art.
Cheers, Patrick

4301.5 | There is some conversion available. | GOBAMA::WILSONTL | Lead Trumpet (Read that...LEED!) | Fri Nov 30 1990 10:38 | 4 |
| I have recently seen a conversion package that does some conversion
from ProWrite to PageSetter format in a local store. I plan to buy it
and will, in any case, find out the name of it and post it here. It
costs ~ $20.00 US.
