4293.0. "Microsearch DVC" by HKFINN::MACDONALD (VAXELN - Realtime Software Pubs) Tue Nov 20 1990 10:55
Microsearch, down in Texas, markets a "DigiView Cable" or DVC. This
"smart" cable connects from the Amiga mouse port 2 to the Sunrize Color
Splitter (or Microsearch Color Splitter). It allows use of DigiView's
AUTO facility to switch from Red to Green to Blue on the color splitter
automatically.
There does appear to be a problem when using the cable with the Sunrize
Color Splitter. Although Green and Blue are switched correctly, Red is
not. The problem was resolved by removing the fat resistor sitting on the
tiny circuit board in the cable box (at Microsearch's suggestion).
Apparently, a slightly higher voltage is needed to swicth from Green to
Red on the Sunrize. The resistor controls that particular voltage.

| re .1:
The voltage level varies for different Amigas. I use the Microsearch
cable with the Sunrize Color Splitter and didn't need to make any
changes to get all three colors with Digiview's AUTO facility.
(I guess I was just lucky). Thanks for posting the fix.
