I've recently tried to install Dnet v2.13 between my A2000 and my house mates A500. This is a direct connect - ie no modem. Followed instructions and assigned Dnet: to the right directory. I then added Dnet:Amiga/bin to path. Then ran Dnet on both machines using identical prefs in system configuration. Ran Startnet and FTERM opened on one machine, nothing happened on the other. It won't respond to anything; FTERM hangs on 'waiting' and on the other machine, in the Dnet window, the only thing that appears is '[P}' What I am doing wrong? I'm using a 7-wire null-modem. Dave.....

Re: .0 I don't know enough about DNET to help, but I have a suggestion: Make sure that you really to have the right cable. (I'm assuming you are using the serial ports on both machines.) Plug the cable into both machines, and then run your favorite terminal program on both. Whatever you type on one machine, should appear on the screen of the other. By the way, don't be alarmed that what you type doesn't appear on the screen of the local machine: terminal programs, unlike operating systems, usually don't echo your characters back at you. | |||||
