Yet another LA75 problems note. I got my LA75 (serial) going using the EpsonX[MPS--?---] driver under WB1.3 It works great when I print from PAGESETTER II (all those lovely scalable fonts with no visible jaggies) but when I dump IFF stuff using GRAPHICS DUMP (on WB) or ScreenX (a PD utility) I get solid black. If I look closely at the solid black rectangle I can just about make out several shades of black representing the graphic. No doubt I've got something set wrong in my preferences for the printer but I dont understand what the settings are for and I dont have the 1.3 User Manual (my local supplier just gave me the WB disk when I inquired about upgrading from 1.2) Hence my question buffer below.. 1 what are the purposes of the Graphic-1 and Graphic-2 setup screens? 2 What is the purpose of the different shading types ? the default seems to be ORDERED, what do the others do? 3 One of the settings adjusts the colour interpretation (the BLUE box is highlighted by default) and seems to affect the number of 'colours' available (if I de-select blue it says 4096 colours). Whats all this about? 4 what intensity settings should I use? why are there two intensity setups? I guess what I would like to know is WHAT ARE THE SETUPS YOU ARE USING TO GET GOOD GRAPHIC OUTPUT ON YOUR LA75 IN IBM MODE? Paul O'Brien, Dublin

4137.1 | Lower your density setting. | GOBAMA::WILSONTL | Tony, the HOSS TRUMPET | Thu Sep 20 1990 15:11 | 4 |
Most of this is from memory...On the Graphics2 screen, you should see a "DENSITY" setting. Reducing that to 3 or less should improve it somewhat. You probably should ensure that the setting is BLACK AND WHITE and not GRAYSCALE. |
