I just discovered Falcon/F-18 won't run on my AMIGA 2000 with the 6810 installed. I never had a problem before on my AMIGA 500 with the 6800. I also have the same problem with HYBRIS. How often will this occur with CPU upgrades? how much of my current software can I expect not to run as I continue to upgrade my CPU? I understand there are a few products out there that can be had that will allow you to upgrade the CPU but still keep 6800 compatibility. (Midget racer) etc... Whats the going price for the Midget Racer and/other products that achieve the same? Can the compatability problem be overcome by other than hardware solutions? Why is it that some but not all software is incompatible with the 6810? I also noticed that usually sound effects of programs are usually always somewhat distorted... M. Gaines

I have a Midget Racer (68020). The 68020 replaces the 68000. The Mega
Midget Racer is a 68030 accelerator that you can switch between the
68000 and 68030. The only software incompatibilites I've had is with
games that have "special" boot blocks or "insane" protection schemes.
The few games I have are hard drive installable and they run just fine.
ALL of my other software, commercial and freely distributable,
functions normally.

Strange.... Falcon is not copy protected. They use a code wheel
yet I can't get it to run on the 68010...

Mike, go back about a zillion notes and read the Falcon topic. The
first release of Falcon would not work with a 68010/020/030. Spectrum
Holobyte upgraded that software last year to function properly on all
Amigas. I don't know what the upgrade policy was down under, but it
was pretty straightforward in the US.
