Does anyone in Colorado have an Amiga (of any kind) working with a Sony
KV1311-CR monitor? If so, I'd like to borrow your cable just to do a
sanity check on my monitor.
My cable has always worked fine until a recent move damaged it somehow.
It was a pretty grubby cable, so I decided to have it rebuilt at a
local dealer who does such things for a very reasonable price (rather
than do it myself----they only charge $17 to build a cable from
scratch). Only problem is that the new cable doesn't work, even though
the tech there says it's identical to the old cable. Since they've now
been working on my cable for 3 weeks, and they've now had the monitor
for a week, I'm starting to get a little impatient. If anyone in
Colorado has a working cable I could borrow for just a couple of hours,
I'd be most appreciative.

I know this may sound dumb, but, make sure the connector on the monitor end of the cable is plugged in right. On mine, you can actually plug it in 6 different ways. Of course, only one is right, but its really easy to offset the plug by one row of pins. Just a thought. (I live in NH, so my monitor won't be of much help.) Randy | |||||

Although I can't remember which end is up, I am sure that it should
plug in centered; I think two free pins on top and 2 on the bottom.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am well familiar with the eccentricities
of the connector on the monitor end, but that's not the problem this
time (it has been in the past).
The tech at the shop is supposedly working with someone from Sony, so
maybe they'll figure out the problem soon.
