Has anyone had experience of the Amiga program MSH. Its a MS-Dos
Handler for the Amiga, but all my attempts to make it work have failed.
I have an Amiga A500, no expansion at all. I want to use the
internal drive to read the MS-Dos disks. Therefore I have altered the
Mountlist so that it includes the handlers for the MS-DOS disks which
were on the PD Disk I received. Will it work, will it ek! Despite
trying all combinations of the number of sector, number of tracks etc.
I have had no joy what so ever.
Can anyone supply a Mountlist that will work. By the way I have
WB1.2, but I cannot see why that should make any difference.
What is the price of an Amiga A3000 in the USA and the UK. I
havenot seen any advertised and would like to know the price, either
sterling or US$.
Thanks,
Ric

A "dir /title=msh" would have pointed you to notes 3509,3702,3758,and
3937. I think it is time we all started making attempts to see if
any exsisting note is available before starting a new one. I admit
I have also been guilty, but as time go's by this file is getting
harder ,and harder to track. I for one don't even respond to inquires
regarding upload, download, arc etc simply because they have been
beaten to death. I realize notes can be confusing to the new user
but then "help" is a keystroke away.
That said, I'll repeat the advice I offered to a similar response
once before. Buy Crossdos if you can. After the shareware fee is
paid the price difference is nothing compared to the quality of
the program(just went up $10.00 for latest version). In a situation
you are in (one drive) it would most likely aviod a great deal of
aggravation. I believe crossdos works with 1 drive because the
"track.disk" patch was made to deal with a problem the standard
device had with single drive systems. I only say this because I
feel that this product is very, very good. If you wish to use MSH
then follow the pointers at the start of this note. At any rate
Good luck, because the ability to read ms-dos files opens up a
whole new world, and is well worth the effort it takes. I myself
like the look on my friends faces when I pop the disk in and the
amiga does not even burp. It says a lot for our system and the quality
of some of the software available.

Check to make sure the UNIT number in the MSH mountlist entry is set to 0. It comes set to 1 by default... john

Make sure you have ARP installed. It will not work without it. Randy
