3846.0. "MRBackup V4.0b now on TAPE" by NITMOI::WITHERS (Another Hallmark Moment. -Al Bundy) Fri Jun 15 1990 11:46

    New Version of MRBackup on TAPE!

    I uploaded MRBackup V4.0b to TAPE::USER2:[UPLOAD]MRBACKUP040B.ZOO fresh
    from the Usenet to you. I haven't tried it yet but new(er) features
    include a NeXT-like 3D Icon display, configuration files to specify
    files to Backup/Not-Backup, Compress/Not-Compress, and Decompress (or
    not).

    Looks good on paper..

    HI,

    Is MRBackup a standard PD backup program for the Amiga? If so would it
    be at all possible to mail a 3.5" disk to you and get a copy? If it is
    too much to ask I fully understand.

3846.2Help with backup filtersTOOK::KEEGANPeter KeeganFri May 03 1991 10:1026
I'm having trouble using the MRBackup backup utility with backup
filters. I want to backup only a few select directories on my hard disk
and have edited the S:MRBackup.bflt file - after the :INCLUDE: line,
I indicate the directories I want to backup:
:INCLUDE:
utilities/*
s/*
libs/*
fonts/*

But when I invoke the BACKUP operation, MRBackup scans the entire disk
and displays the file selector window containing everything on the
disk! If I then click on 'Deselect all', then select the above 4
directories, it backs up nothing at all. I know that MRbackup is
seeing the MRbackup.bflt file because if I include a bogus filter, it
complains.

I'm sure I'm doing something dumb, as this program seems to have been
reasonably well designed. Any MRBackup users out there?
