Is anyone using MSH and PCdisk to move files back and forth? I've been testing this this week with limited success. MSH seems to work fine on Amy, formats ok move files to/from (on Amy) ok. I formated two new disks with MessyFMT using the defaults to get a DOS 720K disk. I copied a text file and a ZOO file to one of the disks and tried it at work on a VAX3100's RX23 using PCDISK. The text file came out ok except it was double spaced. Any cure for this? The ZOO file however appears to be corrupt (can't even get a ZOO listing). Doing a DIR/FULL shows that the files "record format" is STREAM instead of STREAM_LF. Could this be why ZOO doesn't like it? Any way to resolve this? Going the other way seems more successful. On the other MSH formatted floppy I wrote 3 ZOO files using PCDISK. On Amy I was able to read them fine but one of the 3 had CRC errors on some files in the archive. I just checked the archive on the VAX an it was fine. Any ideas or should I stick to Zmodem @1200 baud 8) ...Ed

I've been using CrossDos (a commercial package that pretty much does the same thing), and the MS-DOS text files are always double spaced unless you apply a CR/LF filter that CrossDos provides. It seems that MS-DOS uses a CR/LF in place of every AmigaDOS LF. This causes the double spacing. Ed. |
