The following was taken off the Able new items list. It just so happens my mouse is trashed and am in the market for a new one, (I've been getting by with a converted Atari Trackball). Although the price for the CBM replacement looks good, I was wondering if anyone who knows Mice better than I, could tell me if the Naksha is a good mouse... (is 280 DPI (Assuming Dots Per Inch) standard?). I do alot of graphics work, but I don't have the money for a "BOING mouse". Thanks Ed Description Manufacturer Retail ABEL!!! I can't advise you on the Naksha mouse, but since my Atari mouse is starting to bite the big one again, I'm looking very seriously at Pratical Solutions' Cordless Mouse. High resolution, no tail (real pain!) better design, and it's available for the Amiga. Cost is a bit steep - list is $109, but I can pick it up at the local comp store here for around $95. re:.1 I suggest you try out the cordless mouse first. I did and found there was a delay in response that made it unusable for me. The pointer did not track my movements crisply. This may not bother other folks, but I strongly suggest you try it before you buy it. -SES
3670.3 | reconsider Boing | SAUTER::SAUTER | John Sauter | Fri Apr 13 1990 15:24 | 7 |
Also, the Boing mouse is not as expensive as the list price would lead you to believe. I used up a couple of Commodore mice before investing in the Boing mouse. It doesn't need cleaning to maintain a "good" feel, the switches remain reliable, and therefore I expect it to last a lot longer than the standard rodents. If it does last longer, then that reduces its cost of ownership. John Sauter
3670.4 | I'd go with CBM mouse | SALEM::LEIMBERGER | Mon Apr 16 1990 05:54 | 10
I also am a fan of the boing mouse.However if I had to buy something else I'd get another CBM mouse.(as long as you do not need three buttons)Of all the mouse devices I have used the original mouse that came with my Amiga seems to have a better quality feel.I gave my mouse to a friend when I got the boing mouse.My feelings also run against any device that needs an adaptor to be used on the Amiga.If I were you I'd go for a device that plugs right into amy without any adaptors.As for cordless,love the concept but I don't think the technoligy lives up to the promises. bill |
