    If you're in Geneva (as the nodename would indicate) then see if you
    can find Steven Sloane who has a copy of the LA50 printer driver and
    the required 1.2 printer.device/serial.device.

3633.2No graphics for 1.3NAVIER::MELLITZFri Mar 30 1990 08:455
    As far as I can tell... If your running 1.3, there is no LA50 driver
    available that will print graphics.

3633.3Get a real printer ...;^)CGOFS::CADAMSClint Adams - Calgary, CanadaFri Mar 30 1990 12:4227

    Have a look at CGOU01::AMIGA:[tools] la50.arc and myla50.arc (might be
    an enhanced version). These will work with the 1.2 printer stuff. If
    you are using version 1.3 of workbench etc. you will need to get a
    copy of printer.device from a version 1.2 workbench disk if you want
    any of the graphics to work.

    I have used this setup until recently. The LA50 will print graphics,
    but it is real slow with the 1.2 printer.device and the output isn't all
    that great.

    I finnaly broke down a couple of weeks ago and bought a used Panasonic
    KX-P1080c and dumped the LA50. The difference is like night and day.
    Unless you are really strapped, I recommend getting a real printer and
    trashing the LA50.

    P.S. - When I am printing from Wordperfect and switch the KX-P1080 into
    NLQ mode from the panel, the printer makes four passes building one
    line. I thought it might be doing a bold or something all the time but
    watching it closely, it seems to step the platen down a bit after each
    pass in order make the text and the text is only complete after all
    four passes. This makes a very nice NLQ font for a nine pin. What I am
    wondering is why only when printing from Wordperfect, any other time I
    use NLQ (prefs, etc.) it only makes two passes.
