3628.0. "Wedge-like thing - IO base address query" by PEEVAX::GIFFORD (My dunny was kicked down by chooks!) Wed Mar 28 1990 18:33
I cast this into the Imperial Void for suggestions.....
I have a RD52 on a Wedge like interface.
I think I have a few bad spots on the disk that I want to re-vector away....
I have a program that uses the handler to check the disk - when it gets to
the 'cylinder' that has the bad track it notifies me by 'guru'ing.
I don't really wish to re-vector the complete cylinder - I could re-vector
myself to death....
The cheapHD formatter is smarter... it does a 'low-level' verify by talking to
the AT controller directly.
Now I could modify the program to give me a listing of bad tracks which I
could use when formatting with the (no source provided) program supplied with
the wedge-like thing.
The problem is... that I don't know the base address that the wedge-like thing
is using - It is different to the one on CHEAPHD.
I can actually mount a partition on the Hard-disk, so the drivers should all be
initialised - is there somit that would allow me to derive the base address?
Regards
Stan.
