3611.0. "ProWrite document conversion to text" by KYOA::MIANO (With ELF V2 I've learned the phonebook) Thu Mar 22 1990 19:54

Does anyone know how to convert a ProWrite document into text format?

You need ProWrite to do it. ProWrite has a 'save as text' option under
it's save menu. You get to select CR or LF as the end-of-paragraph
    marker.

I don't know of any ther way, since ProWrite documents are normally
    saved as 'IFF TEXT'.

Ed,

What version of ProWrite do you have? I don;t have a "save as text"
option on my menu.

I have ProWrite 2.5. There's a "Text Only" gadget at the bottom of the
save screen (below the filename) that is used to select this option.

Sorry for the confusion; there's a little 'text only' button on the PW
file requestor. It's been there ever since PW 1.0, and I'm up to 2.5.

To load ASCII files from a directory, you must press the left 'ALT' key
while selecting OPEN from the PROJECT menu. Otherwise, the file
requestor will filter all but PW's own files.

Thanks for you help guys. With your help I have been able to track
down the manual pages where this is documented. Unfortunately it
is not very well written.
