Last night I downloaded PLANS.LZH from TAPE. This looks to be a useful CAD package, BUT....... On my A500 with a 1084S monitor I get a terrible flicker because the program runs in interlace mode. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can set it up without the flicker? The docs do not refer to any setups controlling display mode. Alternatively, is there a "flickerfixer" program on the NET that may help? Ta Steve PS I know there was a reply in a recent topic refering to PLAN, but I can't find it with my rudimentary knowledge of NOTES. Is there an easy way of locating a reply, like a command to list the last n.. read replies?

In those instances where I need the high resolution but low flicker, I make my background light grey and the objects a dark color, like black. I also get good results with orange and green. If you choose the foreground and background colors correctly, flicker will be barely perceptible. If PLANS doesn't let you change the screen colors, there are a few PD programs that will let you change the color of any screen. Another possibility is that PLANS is using your workbench colors. Try changing them and see what happens. Check the Fish disks listing. Miguel A. Alvarez

Try turning the contrast down on you monitor. Also try lowering the brightness. Ed.

Re -1 & 2, I played about with the colours last night and it does seem to be better without the menu block on. Also the flicker is not too bad when the drawing is stationary. It is at it's worst when drawing out lines, circles etc. Thanks for the tips. Steve |
