I need some help with running ARC023.BIN. I have copied this file via KERMIT, via XMODEM and even using PcCopy. But everytime I try and execute, I get "file is not an object module". Anybody go any suggestions, ideas ? Thanks.

3540.1 | Get a "starter disk" | CLO::COBURN | When will THEN be NOW? ...SOON! | Sat Mar 03 1990 22:28 | 14 |
The file as stored on the VAX (and presumably transfered via PCSA) may have a format that is not compatible with the Amiga. Also the transfer via PCSA may muck it up. Also, older XMODEM implementations would pad the last block on the download. Use a program FIXOBJ (sp?) to truncate it. The best solution is to get a copy of the executable already on an Amiga disk and use it. Ed Acciardi used to offer a starter disk that would have everything that you need to get started downloading. | |||||

I'm trying to unpack some archived files that were created on a PC using some version of ARC. When I run them through AmigaArc 2.3, I get a message saying that it can't handle the archive, and that I need a newer version of Arc. Is there a version of Amiga Arc later than 2.3 ? If so, where can I find it ? Thanks, Art |
