    PVP+'s fonts are not standard and are incompatible with the AMIGA
    fonts. They were designed for hi-res video work and are in some type of
    internal PVP format. There are additional font disks (about 4-6), each
    with 4-5 fonts on them.

    PVP does support (with some restrictions that I can't recall but are
    acceptable) using IFF pictures as backdrops. To use this feature, you
    will need a minimum of 1.5 meg memory however.

    Finally; it does not use Workbench or AmigaDOS - it is a standalone
    system. It needs a full meg of memory for minimum work, and does direct
    access to the Ami hardware. It can be installed on a harddrive, but
    it requires its own partition and will force you to reboot your
    system when you exit.

    I find it easy to use and very professional. It was originally designed to
    compete in the "REAL" video/TV production world on a system with just
    1 meg of memory and 2 floppies - pretty good project - and does this
    well (especially when you're pitting a $2000 setup against a $15000+
    setup of industry standard equipment that does the same thing). Now that
    systems are sporting harddrives, 3meg+ memory, and more; it might seem that
    it could use some changes

    How would you compare PVP with Broadcast Titler?  I do wedding video
    work using a two camera system and my editing is done using AB roll
    system format.  I have been looking for a good titling program that
    can be used with a GenOne genlock.  Any comments will be greatly
    appreciated.  Its pretty hard to make a decision when you cannot
    see these programs in action and be able to compare.  I hate to
    spend bucks for these and find out they really don't do what I want.
    

    I just use tv*text.
    I figured out how to make director scroll, so I can scroll.
    I made some simple b&w faded titles for marlboro men III,
    by fred eines.  It is showing on cable stations now and then
    aroudn eastern massachusetts, esp. a 10-mi radius around marlboro.
    I told him white on black suffers on tv and also on broadcast, which
    doesn't affect a cablecast (due to compressors in the broadcast
    chain) and offered him scrolling, but he wanted black and white
    fades.
    Almost no tv shows have black and white; they have white over video
    pictures or color titles (pastel).  Saturated colors in cheap local ads
    are garish.
    I like cheap s/w.  Tv*text is cheap on consignment.  For home movies,
    who could possibly want professional level s/w?
    Tv text can make titles and director can show them in a variety of
    ways.  I don't remember how I got director cheap.  Maybe I just sent
    away in the mail.

 	I use TV*Text Professionall ans I like it. I haven't done much
yet but am ramping up. I was looking into other video software lately,
an ran the Demo for Broadcast Titiler. It is a very impressive program.
I tend to lean toward it because you can convert other Amiga Fonts
to it's font format. It also does not support the Amiga's interface.
While I haven't seen the other video programs, I'd be suprized if they
can improve much on Broadcast Titiler.I will try The others next time 
I go to System Eyes. What I did do was pick up a copy og VidGEN.
	Vidgen is a program that makeds Embossed backgrounds for 
video. It supports Pro Video,and an update I am waiting for will
support Broadcast Titler. It is expensive $145.00 list,and the 
program with a few sample pictures takes up 1/4 of a disk roughly.
What it lacks in size(probably assembler) it makes up for in speed,
and functionally. Vidgen works on the concept of importing a brush
and then building a screen that consists of repetive embossed images
of the brush. Once the screen is layed out you have many options 
at your disposal. For example you can select the direction for your
light source,brightnes,depth,spacing,and of course color. These are only
a few of the things you can modify. The brushes are simply a one color
brush from a paint program like Dpaint. The screen I generated when I 
tried the package used a simple square brush(1 demension) from Dpaint.
	You can import a different brush in seconds if you don't like
the one your using.I tried the director logo from "The Director" and it
came out Great. Maybe I could upload a sample screen. I'd love to see
Dec's logo embossed.Oh! I tried a set of lips with many colors,and vidgen
gave me a screen with 1/2 doz. different size rectangles.
