Yes, either 2090, spirit or cheaphd will drive it.

Yes. except you'll need a different 34 way cable (with two edge
connectors on it) You should be able to use the MSDOS formatting
utilities. (FDISK ?)
 1) Will the CHEAPHD controller work with this drive?
Yes. There is a A2000 version of the CHEAPHD controller.
 2) Can it be made to autoboot?
No.

Download the cheaphd zoo file (can't remember what it's called), it's
all in there except mounting the drive in the 2000 box !!

| Thanks everyone for the answers. I managed to grab CHEAPHD, MAKEHD, and
HDSOURCE. What are the differences between these files?
I'm not mixing up 2 different projects am I?
Re: .1
I did several /TITLEs before this post, including "RD", "DISK", and
"DRIVE". The information is VERY scattered through out the conference,
as it isin topics based on an individual's problem rather than a
meaningful topic.

Well actually, I have one of each (an RD31 and an RD32). The RD31 is
the ST225 20 meg drive, the RD32 is the 40 meg. I intended only to
reference the RD32 in this post, but screwed up. Sorry! My intention is
each to a different Amiga computer.

I've seen several files in different locations and having slightly
different titles. Can I verify that what I got is everything I need
somehow?
Thanks for all the other information. Forgive me if this seems too
novice.

3485.4 | Files belong together | JGO::LOENDERSLOOT | | Fri Feb 16 1990 03:16 | 10 |
| The CHEAPHD, MAKEHD, HDSOURCE files are belonging together. The
CHEAPHD file was missing the sourcelistings to assemble the
'harddisk.device' for MFM devices. The sources are in HDSOURCE together
with the assembled versions (for MFM and RLL). This setup works
very well for me. The only restriction is that you have to use an
OMTI or a ST11-M harddisk controler.

3485.6 | MFM ! | AYOV28::ATHOMSON | C'mon, git aff! /The Kelty Clippie | Fri Feb 16 1990 11:33 | 10 |
| I'm afraid not. The ST225 numbers are
ST225 20Mb MFM
ST225R 30Mb RLL
ST225N ? SCSI (I think it's 30Mb too.)
All the RD31s I've seen are plain vanilla ST225
