| It's advertised by a number of companies over here in the UK, but so
far no-one has been able to tell me what the difference is, just the
price and delivery.

| >Are you sure we're not talking about Version 6 for the PeeCee?
I talked to Lattice tech support yesterday. The word I got
was the latest Amiga version is 5.04 the IBM is up to 6.03 . I told
the rep I had heard a patch was on their BBS,and she checked on it.
Sure enough it was there. Now the latest is 5.04a .The rep promptly
offered to mail me a copy as soon as she saw I was in their Database.
Lattice has been one of the best companies I have ever dealt
with when it comes to support. While I had not recieved word on the
latest patch from them,I feel certain that a major update would be
made known to all registered users.

Yup, it's for the PC, next time I'll go straight to Lattice rather
than listen to some sales rubbish.

3456.6 | V5.05 is forthcoming | FROCKY::BALZER | Christian Balzer DTN:785-1029 | Tue Feb 13 1990 05:14 | 9 |
| I talked to John Toebes at the Paris DevCon.
There will be a V5.05 RSN. This will be a non-automatic upgrade
(you'll have to request it), but for free again. Please wait for
an official word from Lattice before you start swamping them with
update requests.

3456.7 | 5.05 problems
5.05 problems | PEBBLE::mwm | Mik | Fri Mar 16 1990 17:29 | 10 |
| For those interested, the 5.05 patch is now available. However, do to
problems in shigppin the 5.04 patches, it doesn't work for everyone.
Apparently, Lattice shipped two different "5.04" patches. The 5.05
patch doesn't work on lc1, lc2 and lc1b if you've got the "wrong" 5.04
patch. They've promised that there will be a solution on their board by
the end of the week.

3456.8 | How to tell good 5.04 from bad | REDSOX::MURATORI | Rich Muratori, SEG/CAD, HLO2 | Mon Mar 19 1990 13:17 | 7 |
| I was told by the Lattice Customer Service person that the way to tell
if you have the 'good' 5.04 patch is by checking the date on the lc1
file on your original 5.04 patch disk. If it is 20-Sep-89, the patch
is good. If it is 12-Sep-89, the patch is bad and you'll need to
install a good copy of the 5.04 patch before installing 5.05.

Well, I've been kind of quiet about this whole thing because back when
this update was sent out I received BOTH versions of 5.04! It seems the
bad version got lost in the mail, so I called them up and they sent me
another copy (the good version). Several days later the original (bad
version) showed up. I noticed right away they were different and I
hadn't installed either yet so I just installed the newer one which
turns out to be the good version. The differences includes some minor
changes in the doc files as well as several different Object Library
files and a few headers.
Also mentioned on Usenet and my copies agree: The "good" version has a
label which looks like it came off a dot matrix printer, but the "bad"
version has a "laser quality" official looking label.

3456.10 | 5.05 for both 5.04's now available | PEBBLE::mwm | Mike (Real Amigas Have Keyboard Garages) Meyer | Fri Mar 23 1990 13:33 | 6 |
| For those of you who use the Lattice BBS, there is now a 5.05 patch
that will work on all three versions of 5.04 (5.03.9? aka "the bad
disk", 5.04, and 5.04a). Unfortunately, it's the entire patch again, so
you get to download the whole thing. I intend to complain about it......
