I meant to put this note in some time ago...
After a string of problems with my amiga mouse I finally gave up
on it. It was one of the very early ones which had no micro-switches
just a tiny circuit board with a couple of metal plates (for want
of a better description). When the button was depressed the plate
made contact between two points on the circuit board. The whole
thing was held together with selotape (real high-tech huh?)
Pricing an amiga mouse I discovered to my horror that they were
over $200NZ! (around $130US)
I purchased a NAKSHA mouse which cost me $125NZ ($80US) and was
delighted to find:
1/ The mouse was more comfortable to use being a slim-line design
2/ Comes with an extra long cord (about 6 feet long!)
3/ Adaptors for the Amiga and the (shudder) ATARI ST
4/ Its own mouse pad
5/ A mouse holder which can be bolted to the side of a desk. This
holder is where the mouse lives when not in use - tidys things
up nicely
6/ Superb response from high-quality microswitches and bigger buttons
for easier use.
All above features were included in the price! I was quite impressed!
If anyone is considering purchasing a new mouse - the Naksha is
well worth the price. Ive used mine for a few months now with
no problems whatsoever.
Naksha's addres is:
Naksha (UK) Ltd
29 the Wharf
Warrington WA1 2HT
England.
Tho I'm sure dealers will have a 'handle' on them.
Cheers
Phil
