3417.0. "Calling Paris." by MQOFS::LEDOUX (Reserved for Future Use) Thu Feb 01 1990 10:19

I talked to CBM in my part of the world and I have been told that
on February 6th there will be a big Amiga fair in Paris.

They told me that they will "unveil" WB 1.4.

He also mentioned that 1.4 will be multi-lingual.
i.e.: narrator will be available in different languages.
and other goodies, for us "non-english speakers".

Any Deccie in Paris planning to attend that meeting?

If so, try posting some info you got from them.

Vincent.

Re: .0

Yes, I'll be in Paris.
No, I won't talk, unless cleared by CBM.

In other words:

From the 7th to 9th Feb. will the third European Amiga developers
conference be held in Paris (#1 was London, #2 in Frankfurt).

EACH attendee (including CBM employees) will have to sign a
non-disclosure agreement beforehand, which is so strict and includes
heavy penalty fees that noone in his right mind will talk about
anything unless specifically cleared by CBM on this subject.
This of course includes any developments in the OS software arena
(1.9 ;-) or any new hardware (A10350/50 ;-).

The CBM France employee who gave you those informations is gambling
with his job...

I'll keep you folks informed about what I'm able to tell you legally...

Type to y'all in nine days,

Thanks to reply, Christian.

You mentioned "the CBM France employee is gambling with his job..."
But it's NOT a CBM France employee it's a Canadian CBM employee,
still french in language, but not as close as you taught.

Counting those 9 days down...

Vincent.
3417.3I wuz there !!AYOV28::ATHOMSONC'mon, git aff! /The Kelty ClippieFri Feb 09 1990 09:019
Well, I was there !!! Unfortunately not for the full three days,
only for a pre-conference day and the first day of the conference
"proper".
Obviously, I can't say very much about what I saw there, but I've
come home VERY excited about several things. I'll leave any
hint-dropping to <CB> (who I met there face-to-face for the first
time) who's had more experience around what can and can't be discussed

Re: .3

Yeah, it was nice to stumble into two other DECies in Paris.
As far as the hint-dropping is concerned, I'm doing this already,
but don't expect a summary of any products under development...

Regards,
