3407.0. "Change suggestions for 3meg+ systems" by MSVAX::BARRETT (Open the pod bay doors Ami) Wed Jan 31 1990 01:07
Well - I've finally got 3 meg memory! While I had the system open,
I verified my motherboard rev level. It simply said:
B200-CR Rev 4
Now does this mean 4.0, 4.1, 4.5?? Are there any ECO's that I "must"
have being this old a system?
I also wanted to ask other 3 meg+ users what they've been using
for AddBuffer values for DF0:, DF1:, and harddisk. Obviously, I'm
looking for the best value without "throwing" away memory. The manual
says that values above 30 don't give much - But I've found big
differences up to 40 or 50, plus I use 100 on my HD. Or should I
be using FACCII instead?
Finally; what background tasks are "must haves"? It struck me that
running MEMWATCH and GOMF might be redundant. VirusX and ClockDJ
are favorites of mine? What are others including?
