My sequencer MIDI program ( Dr T ) is also able to load INSTRUMENT.IFF files for generation of internal sounds. Does someone know if ..... - There is a standard format for sound (instruments) using the IFF format. - Which other music programs would use a similar INSTRUMENTS.IFF format. _ There are libraries available and where. Thanks

Yes IFF has a standard sound file format. Fred Fish disks have a few sounds of animals and instruments (usually hiding in games subdirectories) but not many. Synthia can make new sounds synthetically. Perfect Sound can sample real sounds and store them as IFF I think. Deluxe music Construction Set can use IFF sounds as instruments. I have studied the format pretty hard. It is in the manuals and in the IFF disk from Commodore that Fred Fish republished. Tom |
