3161.3 | Check you power levels... | BIGMOE::SENNA | | Wed Nov 29 1989 07:31 | 6 |
| It can also happen if your power supply levels are being pulled down.
Check your power supply levels. I've cause this to happen experimenting
with my 500 when trying to see how many boards I can stick on the
expansion port and still use the 500 standard power supply. This is not
recommended, although my amy has been fine for two years (knock on
formica)!

3161.4 | Thanks for the help | BSS::BENNING | | Thu Nov 30 1989 00:20 | 3 |
| Thanks for the help. I read the replys and the notes. I then just
pulled every cable and power supply connector off and reseated them all
and it has been working ever since.

3161.5 | Blinkin key returned swapped 8520s | BSS::BENNING | | Sun Dec 03 1989 17:18 | 5 |
| Well the caps lock key blinking has come back. It only stayed away for
aabout 2 days. I just took my 500 apart and swapped the 2 8520 chips.
Now I hope that fixes it. At least it is still working after taking it
apart and putting it back together and the caps lock key is not
blinking again. Hope it stays away for good.

3161.6 | Tighten the connections. | CGOFS::R_RYAN | | Mon Dec 04 1989 16:29 | 9 |
| Before you try replacing any more hardware; I had the same problem
exactly and reseating the cables would make it work for a little while
and then I would get another failure. Your problem, most likely is the
cable connection for you keyboard. Pull the Amiga apart, and tighten
the connection where the keyboard plugs into the Amiga. If this is
loose you will get this problem intermittently until eventually it goes
dead for good.
Good Luck.
