3160.0. "A1000, schematic.hardw.info. req." by HAMER::DRAGOMIRESCU () Tue Nov 28 1989 15:33

I was looking for the last few days for prints (schematics) for the A1000
(my A1000 has to be fixed, see note 3153), but I ken not get them in NY,
I was looking on different stores locally, no books on Amiga anymore.
Do you know of a publisher or manual covering the hardware for the A1000?
(I am looking for voltages, signals on the A1000 .)

 Thank you.

P.S. Thanks, Ed. and Gerald for your resp. on my first note.

    I have these as well but I dont know if they would be the same as
    yours. I am in Australia and we run 240 volts and PAL. If your problems
    dont lie in the power area you may be OK.

    Someone closer to you may be of more assistance, have you tried asking
    the Commodore tech support people for a copy?
    Failing that I can send you copies of these ones.

    Regards,
    John

    Ha, I've found mine again.

    These are:
    	schematic	ext.5 drive
    	   "		NTSC->PAL
    			RAM cartrige
    			motherboard
    			piggy back

    unfortunately these schematics are bad copies, so it makes no sense
    to copy them again.

    you can give me Your exact address (I live in Germany) to send them
    to You.

    BUT I want hem back, OK?

3160.4-12V.,? (Thanks to all who relpy!)HAMER::DRAGOMIRESCUThu Nov 30 1989 11:3636
Last night I open my Amiga, after disconnecting all cables, I power up
and look for all events before the failure.

On power up the Power LED blinks 5 times ,screen is dark for a minute or
so, and I get the KS icon requester.
I load the KS into the floppy drive, the usual reading flows, next the
monitor is dark, gray dark and dark again, no WB requester.
I did reset (A,A and CTRL) at this point, screen is going dark gray and
next dark .
As I was telling I have only the monitor attached to the A1000, Now, I read
note 2944 posted by Steve McAfee (the flake rep.), is my problem related
the Damage of the expansion port ?.
I had on this port 2MB MicroBotics, a Cltd., a 4000A, 30MegHD with its
power and cab. is possible that I overloaded Amiga power supply?.
I remember reading for a -12V. on the Amiga (on the video port) is this
supply by the Amiga power reg.?
As I said on my original note 3153 I did not see a -12v when I checked
voltages on the power sply. plug. Is this my problem?.
I would appreciate any help on this.!

Thanks.
Alex.

    You should still be able to buy the Amiga 1000 Hardware Technical
    Manual (or similar title) from Commodore-Amiga Technical Support in
    West Chester, PA. Cost is about $25. This includes a complete
    schematic, PAL equations and explanations of the old Zorro I expansion
    bus and autoconfig. I believe there's an old note describing documents
    available from CATS somewhere early in this notesfile.

    Don't confuse this manual with the _Amiga Hardware Manual_ published
    by Addison-Wesley. The latter is really a programmer's manual and
    includes no schematics.

    I bought mine from Cardinal. They are hugh (24" x 36"). You should
    try to get it from one of the above two places first. If that failed,
    send me mail and we can figure out something.

3160.7Hardware test disk ?KETJE::VLASIUTry with a bigger hammerFri Dec 01 1989 03:3914
	Hello Alex,

I do not have an A1000 to be able to help you much but I wonder if there is
no hardware test disk at Commodore as the A1000 relies on KS loading.
They should have this disk to load instead of the KS for hardware diagnosis.
If I obtain any information from a friend who had an A1000 I'll pass it to
you.

Best regards,
Sorin

P.S. Yes, there are good things happening in Europe but Romania (which is
also my homeland) remains stone cold unfortunately.
3160.8A1000 Service Manual from CBM.HAMER::DRAGOMIRESCUFri Dec 01 1989 10:1612
Many thanks to all of you who reply to my first two req. on note 3153 $
3160.
 I called CBM at 215-4364200 (Com. Cust. Supp.), after 35-40 min. on hold
they offer me a Service Manual for 55$ + 3$ shipping, # 314038-02.
 I am going for it, the only think is that is going to take 3 to 4 Weeks
to get it. Well, I have to wait, and look to my A1000 for all this time.

 (Sorin, you are right "BLOODED stone cold"!, but I have hopes for a
" HOT spring " coming.!, . Keep in touch!?)

Alex.
