Well, as I can't find the US note, and this is related to the UK, and I'm lazy, its a full moon, etc My flabber is totally gasted, I'm still pinching myself to check I am awake. Why? I saw my first Amiga ad on British television last night. It was screened during (you won't believe this) 'In the heat of the night', and was a very nice, short ad. My wife claims she saw the same ad screened during breakfast time TV. Anyone else catch it? Angus

Angus, There was one on last night around 7:30, quite short, and at least avoiding the the controversial graphics sequences that marred last christmas's advertising campaign. I cant say it made a lasting impression on me, so maybe there is a case for contoversy providing it's legal. Regards, David

Ha! I have now spotted to sets of Ami ads. One, very, short ad (10-15 secsonds), where there is a close up of the Batman game and <mumble>, and a distance shot of a kid doing something on his A500 (the shot is face on to the kid, and rear of the Ami). The one I spotted in .0 is much longer; the starting sequence showing the 'heavy, boring, grey' figures, the Glums, reminiscent of the 'Miller lite' ads; then switches to the bright, happy, vibrant 'Glads', and the marvellous, family, software they can run on their A500; before finally switching back to the Glums, and commenting how disadvantaged they were. Shame they didn't show the A2000, or more business type applications, or the graphics capability of the Ami. I am still undecided which is 'better', this new set of Ami ads, or the long running Atari ad. Angus PS, what is that ancient game the Glum kid wasn't playing on his machine?

I was much more impressed with the advert on Sunday night at around 10:00 pm. It showed some nice, believable, shots of screen graphics, as well as the MIDI capabilities of "AMY". Regards, David |
