| AHHA! - TELL ME - IS YOUR PRINTER CABLE HOME MADE?
I had this problem once. I made up a ribbon cable with a male end
and female end. But I got one of the plugs upside down - instead
of pin 1 1 going to pin 1/2 to 2 etc I had pin 1 going to 14...
I had the same problem with my external drive...
Solution: undo plug on one end of ribbon and turn it over - then
re-connect.
This may NOT be your problem - check your cable first and make sure:

| It was pin 16 the Init signal that was doing it. I pulled that pin out
and the printer and both drives now work. I don't remember who sent me
mail about the Init pin but thanks a bunch!!!!! I even got the modem
working and an doing this on my Amiga from home sure is fun!!!
