3104.0. "1st AmiExpo in Germany (Cologne)" by FROCKY::BALZER (Christian Balzer DTN:785-1029) Tue Nov 14 1989 11:02

    Just as a quick info, the first German AmiExpo (called Amiga'89)
    which was held from the 10.-12. Nov. was a killer. They estimated
    the over 55000 people visited the show, with an expected audience
    of 10000-20000. The floor was packed, several times the fire department
    closed the entrance to keep the mass below "critical". I did spent
    most of the show at the Lattice booth with John Tobes, his wife
    Mary and Doug Walker (all at SAS and from the Software Distillery).
    The show was a major succes for all who came, some dealers where
    sold out by Saturday.

    Still a little dizzy,

    Hmmmm,
    i think if <CB> or any of the other visitors were able TO SEE something
    they were able to tell something about it.
    Sorry but i was on the fair, and i was not able to see something.
    I'm glad that i survived this inferno.

3104.3Some...FROCKY::BALZERChristian Balzer DTN:785-1029Mon Nov 20 1989 06:5914
    Well, I didn't see too much new stuff, but then again it was pretty
    hard to see some booths at all. ;-)
    Gold Disk showed their new PPage version which is praised somewhere
    else in this conference. One thing of interest to me where an ethernet
    card with software by Perihelion, marketed in Germany by Xpert.
    The systems at the CBM boot where also equipped with this card,
    looked like a smooth thing to me. It's an US product, but the
    manufacturer name currently escapes me. Oh yeah, some companies
    showed MO (magneto-optical) drives, but unfortunatly these items
    are in price range that is totally outta my reach.

    Regards,

3104.4Just to spend the Frankfurt round...FRAIS3::HESSENBRUCHMaxi-SingleMon Dec 11 1989 11:066
    Sorry about not beeing there, but I've heard about a hard disk,
    which were presentated on this expo.
    It is for the Amiga 500 and will fit into the cab.
    Has anybody Infos about capacity and prices?

3104.5LOOK around ...FRSOLD::ZIMMERMANNRalf, DTN *861-3236, @FRSTue Dec 12 1989 04:2410
    Hi Stefan,

    one of the things i saw was the _SMALL_ drive (something between 2" and
    3") and a capacity of 20 or 30 MB. But i don't remember the price.
    Look for ads in the different Amiga-mags, if this is a good beast and
    not only an expo-model (mean they can sell large amounts) there must
    be some ads during the next weeks.
